This 2U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor running at 2.4 GHz and 4 GB of DDR4 ECC memory. The chassis includes eight 2.5-inch drive bays populated with 146 GB 15 K SAS drives and an HP Smart HBA H240ar controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies and a Matrox G200eH2 graphics adapter complete the configuration. The system is sold new without an operating system.

Ideal for density-focused compute

The eight small-form-factor bays and 12 Gb SAS controller suit workloads that need fast local storage in a compact rack footprint. Buyers who need more than 4 GB of memory or a second processor should look elsewhere because only one CPU and 4 GB are installed, although the board provides 24 DIMM slots and a second socket. Organisations requiring NVMe support, GPU acceleration or a pre-loaded hypervisor will need to add those separately.
