The HPE DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for virtualization, database and compute-heavy workloads that demand high core counts and large memory capacity in a compact form factor. It suits IT teams consolidating multiple workloads onto a single physical host. Buyers who need more than eight 2.5-inch drive bays or GPU acceleration will need a different chassis.

Thermals noise and power draw

Dual 500 W Flex Slot power supplies share the load and provide redundancy for the two 14-core Xeon E5-2690 v4 processors running at 2.6 GHz. The 8SFF airflow design moves air front-to-rear across the CPU heatsinks and memory modules under typical datacentre conditions. Acoustic output is managed by fan curves that respond to inlet temperature and component utilisation.

Build quality and connectivity

The chassis supports up to eight 2.5-inch SAS drives served by the Smart Array P440 controller with RAID capability. An Intel I350 and X540 combination delivers two 10 GbE and two 1 GbE ports for flexible network segmentation. HPE iLO Advanced enables remote firmware updates, power control and console access without physical presence. Rail kits are available separately for rack installation.
