The ToughArmor MB606SPO-B fits a single external 5.25-inch bay and provides six 2.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap bays plus one ultra-slim optical drive slot. It targets builders who need maximum drive density in industrial, military, medical or mobile systems where space is at a premium.

Replaces multiple loose drive cages

This unit consolidates six separate 2.5-inch drive mounts and a slim optical bay into one rugged metal enclosure. The upgrade is worth it when vibration resistance, hot-swap convenience and a unified 40mm cooling fan matter more than using internal 3.5-inch bays or external USB enclosures.

Requires SAS host for SAS drives

Each drive tray connects via SATA or SAS on a single channel; a SAS host controller is needed for SAS SSDs or HDDs. The cage frees internal 3.5-inch bays for other uses and supplies individual status LEDs, while the removable trays with anti-vibration pins secure drives in harsh environments.
