Two-bay 2.5" SATA/SAS mobile rack

The ICY DOCK ToughArmor MB992SK-B fits two 2.5" SATA or SAS drives into a single 3.5" floppy bay. It supports SATA I, II and III at up to 6 Gb/sec and uses a full-metal chassis with passive ventilation. Two EZ Slide Micro trays and a two-segment key lock secure each drive. Status LEDs on the front panel show power and activity for both bays.

Builders converting a legacy 3.5" bay

This unit suits system integrators adding redundant OS drives or fast scratch disks to industrial PCs, medical equipment or media servers. It is not for installers who need more than two drive positions, or who have only larger 5.25" bays available. The 9.5 mm height limit also excludes thicker 2.5" mechanical drives.

Dual 7-pin SATA host connections

Each bay requires its own SATA data cable from the motherboard or controller, so the host must provide two free SATA ports. The tray backplanes pass signals straight through with no speed reduction. Without two available ports the second drive cannot be used.
