The Intel 10GFC SFP+ transceiver operates at 850 nm over multimode fibre with an LC connector. It is built for servers and storage arrays that need short-range 10 Gb Fibre Channel links. Network engineers and system integrators use it to connect switches, HBAs and storage controllers within a rack or data-hall row.

10 Gb Fibre Channel headroom

The module handles 10 Gb Fibre Channel traffic across standard OM3 or OM4 multimode runs. It reaches its distance limit when the fibre span exceeds the 850 nm multimode budget, so longer campus or building-to-building links need single-mode optics instead. Buyers who need extended reach or DWDM wavelengths cannot use this transceiver.
