The Kingston SSDNow V300 is a 2.5" internal solid-state drive with a 240GB capacity and a SATA III interface. It uses an LSI SandForce controller customized for Kingston and delivers maximum sequential read and write speeds of 450 MB/s. The drive is designed for consumer notebooks and desktops that accept a 7mm or 9.5mm height drive.

Upgrade From 7200RPM Hard Drive

This SSD replaces a mechanical 7200RPM hard drive and is rated as up to 10x faster in typical use. The jump is worth it when the system feels sluggish during boot, application launch or file copy because the drive has no moving parts and offers 85,000 IOPS random read and 43,000 IOPS random write. The kit includes a 2.5" USB enclosure and a 7mm to 9.5mm adapter for easy migration.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous operation the drive draws 1.423W during reads and 2.052W during writes while idling at 0.640W. It is rated for an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C and an MTBF of 1,000,000 hours. Vibration resistance is specified at 2.17G peak while operating and 20G peak non-operating.
