Server ECC Registered Memory Kit

This OWC kit provides 128GB of DDR3 server memory across eight 16GB RDIMM modules. It is built for workstations and servers that require ECC registered DIMMs. The kit will not work in standard desktop computers that only accept unbuffered memory. Mixing these registered modules with unbuffered DIMMs is not supported.

DDR3 1333 Registered DIMM Limits

The modules run at DDR3 1333 (PC3-10600) with a CAS latency of CL9 and operate at 1.5V. Each DIMM uses a 2Rx4 organisation and fits a 240-pin DDR3 slot. ECC registered memory of this type cannot be used in platforms that only support unbuffered or non-ECC DDR3. The registered buffer adds a clock cycle, so the memory controller must support registered DIMMs explicitly.

Installing Eight RDIMM Modules
