System-specific ECC upgrade

This OWC kit supplies 16 GB of DDR3L ECC registered memory in two 8 GB modules. It is built for Supermicro H8QGL, H8SCM, X10DBT, X10QBi and X10QBL series motherboards used in workstations and servers. The modules will not work in standard desktop computers.

DDR3L 1600 registered limits

The memory runs at 1600 MHz with CL11 latency at 1.35 V. Registered DIMMs require a motherboard chipset and BIOS that support buffered operation; they cannot be mixed with unbuffered modules. Capacity per slot is fixed at 8 GB with this kit.

240-pin RDIMM practicalities

Each module uses a standard 240-pin DDR3 DIMM form factor without a heat spreader, fitting typical server DIMM slots. The low-profile height aids airflow in dense chassis. Installation follows normal DIMM alignment; no extra cables or brackets are needed.
