Server-grade ECC LRDIMM kit

This 256GB kit contains two 128GB DDR4 2933 LRDIMM modules built for the PowerEdge C4140 with CascadeLake CPUs. It delivers registered ECC load-reduced operation at 1.2V with CL21 latency. The 8Rx4 organisation and 288-pin form factor are validated for server and workstation platforms only.

Load-reduced architecture changes compatibility

The load-reduced design reduces electrical load on the memory bus, allowing higher capacities per channel than standard registered DIMMs. It cannot be mixed with unbuffered or standard registered ECC modules. Backward compatibility covers 2133, 2400 and 2666MHz speeds, so the kit will downclock if the system requires it.

8Rx4 rank structure decides fit

The 8Rx4 configuration determines whether the motherboard memory controller can address the full 256GB across two slots. Systems that do not support 8-rank load-reduced modules will not recognise the capacity. Verify the C4140 BIOS and CPU memory-controller limits before ordering.
