Server memory kit

This OWC kit supplies 64GB of DDR5 ECC registered RDIMM memory in two 32GB modules. It is built for Dell PowerEdge R760xa, R860 and R960 servers that require registered error-correcting memory. The modules run at 4800 MT/s with CL40 latency at 1.1V. This memory will not work in standard desktop computers or with unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs.

Build integration

Each module uses the 288-pin DDR5 RDIMM form factor and a 2Rx8 rank configuration. The registered buffer reduces electrical load on the server memory controller, allowing the full capacity to be populated across compatible channels. The kit replaces Dell part numbers AC239378 and SNPW08W9C/32G for straightforward field upgrades. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow must follow the server chassis design.

Thermals and power

Operating at 1.1V, the modules draw minimal power per DIMM slot in normal server workloads. The absence of a heat spreader means cooling depends entirely on the directed airflow inside the PowerEdge chassis. JEDEC and RoHS compliance ensure stable operation within the thermal envelope defined by the platform. Acoustic impact is negligible compared to system fans.
