The Solidigm D7-P5520 is a 15.36TB U.2 15mm enterprise SSD built with 144L TLC 3D NAND and a PCI-Express 4.0 interface. It delivers up to 7100 MBps sequential read and 3700 MBps sequential write, plus 1000000 IOPS random read and 200000 IOPS random write. The drive is rated for 28.0 PBW endurance and 2,000,000 hours MTBF.

Read-intensive data-centre workloads

This drive suits read-heavy server tasks such as content delivery, analytics and virtualisation where high capacity and strong random-read performance matter. Its 200000 IOPS random-write rating and 28.0 PBW endurance make it a poor fit for write-intensive logging, database journaling or heavy OLTP workloads that demand higher write endurance. Buyers needing a smaller form factor should also consider other options.

PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface

The SSD connects through a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 U.2 connector, so the host backplane or adapter must provide that exact electrical and mechanical interface. A system limited to PCIe 3.0 or lacking a U.2 15mm bay cannot use this drive at its rated performance or at all.
