WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe 1TB

The WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe is a 1TB internal SSD built on PCIe 4.0 x4 and 3D NAND for desktop PCs and PlayStation 5 consoles. It targets gamers and power users who need high sequential and random throughput for large game libraries and heavy workloads.

Build integration

The drive uses the M.2 2280 form factor and requires a motherboard slot wired for PCIe 4.0 x4 to reach rated speeds. An integrated heatsink is included, so no separate cooling bracket is needed and the slot remains unobstructed for adjacent components.

Thermals, noise and power

The heatsink keeps the controller within the 0°C to 70°C operating range during sustained transfers, eliminating thermal throttling without adding any moving parts or noise. Idle power drops to 40 mW in PS3 and 5 mW in PS4 sleep states, rising to 80 mW and 60 mW respectively when the RGB lighting is active.
