Splitter for 5 V DC devices

The KEHIPI UCTRONICS U6114 separates an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ feed into a gigabit Ethernet link and a regulated 5 V supply. It terminates in both a USB-C plug and a 5.5 × 2.1 mm barrel jack so a single unit serves boards with either connector. The adapter is aimed at makers and integrators who need to power a Raspberry Pi 4, Jetson Nano or similar 5 V hardware where no mains outlet exists.

20 W output with gigabit data

The splitter delivers up to 5 V at 4 A (20 W) when fed from an 802.3at PoE+ switch or injector, and passes 10/100/1000 Mbps traffic through its RJ45 port. With an 802.3af source the available power drops below the 4 A rating, so high-draw boards may become unstable. The Ethernet cable can run up to 300 feet from the power source, but the data pair carries no voltage after the split.

Replaces a wall wart and short USB lead

It removes the need for a local AC adapter and lets you locate the device wherever a PoE cable reaches. The step up is worthwhile when you already have PoE+ infrastructure or when running mains power is impractical. It will not work with passive PoE gear, Quick Charge or Power Delivery sources, and it cannot supply voltages other than 5 V.

Preguntas sobre este artículo

Will this splitter deliver full 5 V 4 A power if my switch only provides 802.3af PoE?

It works with 802.3af equipment but output will be below the 20 W maximum; an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ switch or injector is required for full 5 V 4 A.

How can I confirm the splitter is negotiating correctly after I connect it?

The unit powers the attached device at 5 V and the LAN port links at up to 1000 Mbps when the PoE+ handshake succeeds.

Which cables and adapters are included so I can connect both a USB-C and a barrel-jack device?

The box contains the splitter, a 5.5×2.1 mm barrel-to-USB-C adapter, a barrel-to-barrel adapter, and one Ethernet cable.
