Chassis and cabling check

Verify that your rack holds a compatible PowerEdge MX or M1000e enclosure with available half-height slots and sufficient power budget for dual CPUs and 512 GB of DDR4. The blade uses two 2.5-inch drive bays wired to the integrated PERC S140 controller which supports SATA and NVMe devices. A Dell Broadcom 57810S-K dual-port 10 Gb daughter card provides the only onboard network interfaces so upstream 10 Gb switching and cabling must be in place.

Day-to-day implications

The PERC S140 controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 across the two front-accessible caddies without a dedicated cache module. iDRAC 9 Enterprise enables remote power control, console redirection and firmware updates over a dedicated management port.
