The AMD EPYC 9825 is a 144-core server CPU built for data-centre workloads that demand maximum thread density. It delivers 288 threads at a 2.2 GHz base clock with a 3.7 GHz max turbo frequency. The processor targets AI inference, cloud infrastructure and enterprise computing where per-socket performance reduces rack count. Buyers needing fewer cores or lower power envelopes should evaluate other models.
With a 390 W thermal design power, this processor requires robust cooling infrastructure; no cooling device is included. The 384 MB L3 cache helps sustain throughput during sustained heavy loads. Power draw scales with the 12-channel DDR5-6400 memory subsystem and 128 lanes of PCIe 5.0 connectivity. Builders must plan for adequate airflow and power delivery to maintain the rated frequencies.
