High-density blade server

The Dell EMC PowerEdge M640 is a half-height blade server built for virtualization, private cloud and high-performance computing workloads. It installs into PowerEdge MX or M1000e chassis and delivers up to 56 cores per server with Intel Xeon Scalable processors.

Dual Xeon Platinum 8260 thermals

Two Intel Xeon Platinum 8260 24-core processors run at a 2.4 GHz base frequency and can reach 3.9 GHz turbo. The blade form factor relies on the chassis cooling infrastructure to manage heat and acoustic output under normal operation.

Sustained load behaviour

The system supports 128 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory across 16 slots, expandable to 1.5 TB. Storage uses a PERC S140 controller with two 1.92 TB SATA SSDs in RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10.
