The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2650 v3 ten-core processor running at 2.3 GHz with 24 GB of DDR4 memory into a 1U chassis. It ships with three 300 GB 15 K SAS drives on a PERC H730 RAID controller supporting levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The system targets workloads that need high spindle speed and hardware RAID in minimal rack space.

Redundant 550 W supply and hot-swap bays

A single 550 W redundant hot-swap power supply feeds the platform while eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays allow drive changes without downtime. Four 1 GbE ports handle network traffic and the iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller provides out-of-band management. Two PCIe 3.0 slots remain available for additional I/O cards.

Included rail kit, bezel and drive trays

The package supplies a rail kit, front bezel and drive trays so the server can be racked and populated immediately. A DVD-ROM drive is fitted and a power cable is provided. No operating system is installed, leaving the choice of hypervisor or OS to the administrator.
