The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rack server designed for environments that need dense storage in a single rack unit. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2603 V3 six-core processor running at 1.6 GHz and 24 GB of DDR4 memory across 24 DIMM slots. The system supports up to 10 hot-plug 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives managed by a PERC H330 RAID controller offering RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. It includes dual 750 W redundant power supplies and a four-port 1 GbE daughter card.

Dual 750 W redundant supplies and 1U airflow

Two hot-swap 750 W power supplies provide redundancy so the server remains running if one unit fails. The 1U chassis uses front-to-rear airflow to cool the processor, memory and drive bays within a compact 17.44-inch depth. The Matrox G200 graphics chip draws minimal power and is intended for basic console output only. No optical drive option exists on the 10-bay configuration, reducing internal heat sources.

iDRAC8 remote management and rail kit included

The integrated iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller enables out-of-band hardware monitoring, firmware updates and virtual console access without an operating system. A rail kit and bezel are supplied for immediate rack mounting. The server arrives without an operating system, drives or drive trays, so storage must be sourced separately. Up to three PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated PERC slot are available for additional I/O cards.
