The Dell PowerEdge R630 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2603 v3 six-core processor at 1.6 GHz and 24 GB of DDR4 memory. Two 300 GB 15K SAS drives and a PERC H330 RAID controller provide RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750 W hot-swap supplies and iDRAC8 remote management come standard. The chassis supports up to three PCIe 3.0 expansion slots.

Verify CPU socket count and drive carrier type

The system board accepts a second Xeon processor but only one is installed. Memory runs at speeds the CPU allows, up to 2400 MT/s across 24 DIMM slots. The ten front bays take 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives; no optical drive option exists on this 10-bay model. Network connectivity uses a four-port 1 GbE daughter card with optional 10 GbE upgrades.

Sustained load stays cool with redundant power

Dual 750 W supplies share the load so neither unit runs near its limit during continuous operation. The 1U airflow path moves air front-to-back across both CPUs, memory and drive bays.
