This 128 GB kit contains eight 16 GB DDR4 registered DIMMs built for Dell PowerEdge R430, R530, R630, R630 XL, R730, R730 XL, R730xd, R730xd XL, R830 and R930 rack servers. It is ECC registered memory and will not work in desktop or laptop systems that only accept non-ECC unbuffered modules.
Each module runs at 1.20 V and carries a CL15 latency rating at 2133 MHz. The absence of a heat spreader keeps the profile low for dense server chassis, while registered buffering reduces electrical load on the memory controller during normal operation.
Dual-rank 2Rx4 organisation distributes access across banks for steady throughput under continuous workloads. On-die ECC detects and corrects single-bit errors in real time, preventing data corruption during extended compute tasks. Modules cannot be mixed with load-reduced DIMMs.

Power off the server, open the chassis, and seat each 16 GB module in the slots specified by the R730 service manual for your CPU count; the step most often missed is populating channels in the exact order the manual shows, otherwise the system will not recognise the full 128 GB.
No scheduled maintenance is required; if a module fails the ECC logic will log correctable errors, at which point you replace only the faulty 16 GB stick rather than the whole kit.
The memory controller caps throughput at 2133 MT/s, so sustained bandwidth tops out at the PC4-17000 ceiling before temperature or voltage become factors.
