The KingSpec XF-L 2TB M.2 2280 is an internal solid-state drive built for consumer desktops, laptops and NVMe-enabled NAS units. It targets gamers, video editors and other creative professionals who need large, fast storage for AAA titles, 4K or 8K footage and heavy project files.

PCIe 4.0 x4 interface

The drive connects through a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 link and runs the NVMe 1.4 protocol. That interface is the single specification that decides whether the SSD will operate at its rated speed; a system limited to PCIe 3.0 will cap the throughput well below the advertised 4000 MBps read and 3700 MBps write.

No heatsink included

The XF-L ships without a heatsink, so sustained workloads on platforms with restricted airflow — such as slim laptops or the PlayStation 5 expansion slot — may require an aftermarket heatsink to prevent thermal throttling.
