This 32GB kit contains four 8GB DDR3 1600 registered DIMMs built for Supermicro SuperWorkstation 5037A and 7047A systems. It delivers ECC error correction and registered buffering required by those platforms. Standard desktop motherboards cannot use this memory and it must not be mixed with unbuffered modules.
Modules operate at the JEDEC-standard 1.5V without heat spreaders, relying on chassis airflow for cooling. Registered buffering adds minimal latency at CL11 while maintaining signal integrity across all four slots. Power consumption follows DDR3 1600 specifications for registered DIMMs under typical workloads.
The kit replaces Supermicro part MEMDR380LSL04ER16 and is validated for the named workstation series only. Buyers needing unbuffered ECC or non-ECC memory for consumer platforms cannot use these modules. Each stick carries OWC's limited lifetime warranty with free technical support and advanced replacement service.

Power down, open the chassis, align each 240-pin module with the slot key and press firmly until both retention clips lock; the step often missed is populating all four slots as a matched kit so the registered ECC timings remain identical across channels.
The modules have no heat spreaders and no moving parts, so only periodic dust removal from the DIMM slots and verification that the 1.5 V supply remains stable are required; replacement is only necessary if a module fails memory diagnostics.
The registered buffer and CL11 latency at 1600 MHz set the throughput ceiling, so memory bandwidth saturates before temperature or voltage become constraints on these bare DRAM modules.
