Drive bay adapter for 2.5" drives

The ICY DOCK MB491SKL-B fits a single 2.5" SATA or SAS drive into a standard 3.5" front bay. It accepts 7mm, 9.5mm, 12.5mm and 15mm drive heights. A removable metal tray with key lock and thumb screw secures the drive. The unit supports up to 6 Gb/sec per channel.

Check host interface and bay access

Verify that your system provides a 3.5" SAS drive bay with a 14 pin SAS backplane connector and a 15 pin power connector. The host must support SAS for SAS drives; SATA drives work on SATA controllers. Ensure the front panel allows tray insertion and removal.

Adds hot-swap to a single bay

The full metal cage enables hot-swap capability for one drive without tools. It occupies one 3.5" bay and connects directly to the backplane. The tray design frees internal space by keeping the drive accessible from the front. No additional cables or brackets are required for installation.
