The Solidigm D5-P5336 is a 30.72TB enterprise solid-state drive in the E3.S 7.5mm form factor. It uses 192-layer QLC 3D NAND and connects through a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface. The drive is new and intended for internal server and data-centre installations.

Read-intensive workloads

This drive suits read-heavy applications such as content delivery, analytics and warm-tier storage where its 7000 MBps sequential read and 1005000 IOPS random read provide high throughput. The 0.56 DWPD endurance rating and 31.55 PBW total write budget make it a poor fit for write-intensive databases, logging or caching tiers that exceed those limits.

Power and thermal envelope

Idle power is 5W and active power reaches 23W, so the platform must supply adequate cooling within the 0°C to 70°C operating range. The E3.S 7.5mm slot frees vertical space compared with taller modules, while the 90g weight adds minimal load.
